Some tax writing makes the JET Programme’s “AJET Connect” March 2012 issue!

I was happy to help the JETters out by talking a bit about the tax-filing requirements for Americans. There are very few CPAs and other accountants who do the outreach to help people with a small, but important, filing requirement.

People generally know that the money they earn from work in Japan can be excluded, BUT they usually don’t know that you have to file the “zero return” in order to exclude it! (Zero return means no taxes are owed.)
