I like how “Bridgewater News” points out that:
The Bridgewater Township Council is the legislative branch of Township government, responsible for promulgating all ordinances and regulations regarding township government.
(Looks like somebody has been reading “Hoofin” . . . )
No more of this, “the Town Council” when it’s township. We live in a township. In South Africa, that’s bad news. In New Jersey, that’s not so bad!
We also finally learn that the Township Council is the legislative branch of the local government. No more, that these are the “mayor’s councillors” or something—with little independent power. A crap line, that the mayor decides stuff, and the Council advises on it.
That was the bullshit that was being pulled down on Garretson Road by the Township Council in the last administration.
