I started blogging in 2003.

Tonight, I was going over old posts.

It’s like the 1950’s. I say a few words, and then link to a local newspaper article whose link has long since been broken.

Back then (back then–2003?!), you were afraid to quote too much from the article, or maybe the publishing company’s attorney would be sending you an e-mail, saying “knock it off!”

I mostly blogged local politics. Reading through August 2003, it’s amazing how local it really was. I remember getting 20 hits a day. That actually got people in local government nervous. They used to send people out to badmouth me.

Wow, the internet sure has changed. At one point, political blogging was something exotic.
