I have been very impressed with this graph.
I have lived through most of the recessions charted on that. Especially the big ones of 1974 and 1982, which were the “worst since the depression”, Great Recessions of those days. Maybe because I was young, they seemed to go on and on, but the jobs inevitably came back.
Look at the one we’re in now, which is prominent.
How long will it take for all the jobs lost since December 2007 to come back?
What about jobs for all the new people who’ve entered the work force in the past three-and-a-quarter years?
