#OWS Occupy movement still going, even though landownders want to clean the park.

It’s good to see that the Occupy gang is keeping it going, despite the fact that the park they’re using is some strange, public-private space. Zuccotti Park, which used to be called Liberty [Plaza] Park, is private property that was granted to the public as a public-use park, by a company called Brookfield Properties. This might sound confusing to many, since we are used to public spaces being public. It’s also an irony, because the Occupy gang is protesting how the 1% of America has control of more than half the resources–and therefore, effective control over the whole thing–and the park they’re using as a platform for the message is controlled by some in-the-shadows private entity.
