Temple University’s Deloitte Financials for July 2011-June 2012 up next.

Usually these appear sometime in late October or early November.

What we are looking for this year is any indication that the multimillion dollar expenditures shown on the IRS Form 990 can be matched to the details coming from the audited Deloitte financials.

As you can see, $4 million going to Japan from Philadelphia in the year July 2010 to June 2011. Where did this money go?

What the audited financials are going to say, is that “TESS”, Temple Educational Support Services—or what we know as Temple University Japan Campus— “breaks even”. How?

As I’ve said here before, Temple Japan is a boondoggle, something set up as some university executives’ great idea 30 years ago. And something that took on a life of its own, and supported jobs for friends and cronies. I call it Temple Friends and Family.

You can bet that these executives and their successors funneled upwards of $50 million to $90 million into Japan over the last three decades.

It’s time for there to be some accounting.
