Pennsylvania’s swing counties trending more blue in U.S. presidential elections.

Pennsylvania was gerrymandered to create a large number of “safe” Republican House districts. But the sentiment of the voters has been trending Democratic for the last quarter century. The GOP is not the party of Lincoln anymore. More and more voters realize this.

Any surprise that President Obama was in Hatfield, Pennsylvania, last week arguing for his version of Fiscal Cliff/Curb resolutions? It’s in part because it’s in his party’s interest to make as many Pennsylvania seats competitive going into the 2014 election. Are the gerrymandered Republicans here interested in voting against the middle class?
