A Narita-based Chiba Prefecture Assemblyman was pamphleting outside JR Narita Station on one of my early insomnia walks, earlier this week.

You can see him in the center of the picture on the left. I had to wait until the Nari Koku school girls passed by. (You know, because of the look—I had to jerk the camera away. “This isn’t about you, so get to school, now!”)
Here’s Amamiya’s handout, on an angle. He is social media literate, with a YouTube channel.
I have lived in Narita for almost ten years, and first came here for about two weeks, twenty-one years ago in May.
I pay attention to the local scene, as you know.
Assemblyman Shingo used to be the Narita Council President. There was an election a couple years ago, where he challenged the current mayor of Narita, Koizumi Kazunari, and came up substantially short. Amamiya pivoted to representation of the People in the Chiba Prefectural Assembly, and won.
He seems a very dedicated servant of the People, and, as an American, I am always amazed when 駅前でビラ配り(“ekimae de bira kubari”) leafletting in front of train stations is carried out. Most of our elected officials want appointments where you get buzzed in. Or have you join a conference call with other anonymous electors.
